Hola, compañeros!

Since august of the beautiful year 2008, I decided to get myself a iPhone 3G. I had a iPhone already, but that was a old one, and the 3G seems way better then the older one. It quite is, but I have to admit: the first generation iPhone was better in more than a few ways. First of all: the coating. Nowadays it’s just plain plastic, but the first generation was made of titanium (or something like that!). With all benefits with it.
But never the less: I’m still glad with my 3G iPhone, although I surely wanted the 3GS as much!

The fun part of an iPhone, in every-which way, the first generation, the 3G or the 3GS, are the apps… And everybody is using some different kinda apps.
Which one is more useful? I’m quite curious… For now, I made up my own ranking list…

Here it comes:

1. Dropbox

2. Ping! Lite

3. Tweetdeck

4. HeyWAY

5. Remote

6. Funambol

7. Shazam

8. Zoek en vind (only for the Dutch!)

I even put the direct links with it, so it’ll show you the place to find on iTunes…
Enjoy!

This means more illustrating to keep up the works, and show it to the world!

The funniest is the description of me.

Che Guevara style
You shouldn’t expect a Argentine Guerrilla, which can illustrate quite nice too, Until you see Toni Massaar at work. Latin-tones with the smoke of a good Cuban Sigar and a nice glass of Rum, are the ingredients for the perfect illustrations.

And they have a couple of interesting features.

1) The LCD appears to be factory glued to the digitizer which is more similar to the first generation iPhones than the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The digitizer can be separated from the LCD on the 3G and 3GS models, which should be interesting to all, but for the repair folks like us–this means that the 4G screen repair price will be higher since both parts will have to be replaced at once.

2) The iPhone 4G front panel seems to be about 1/4″ longer than its predecessors. ***My .02 here is not necessarily that the new iPhone is going to be bigger. A lot of speculation on the size of the new iPhone has come out, however, it could also mean that the front panel is longer because the bezel surrounding the front panel is a different size, or is absent on the 4G models. We really won’t know until it comes out.***

3) There is an interesting reflective, mirror-like surface directly above the speaker. This is likely a spot for the proximity sensor. If that’s what it is, it’s in a different location than previous models.

UPDATE: There are a lot of skeptics out there and rightly so. There have been a lot of “leaked” photos from various Apple products in the past that have turned out to be parts for another product. Here are the things that we know: a) The phone has not been released yet. Until it is, Apple could change the product design or the parts we have acquired could be prototypes. Since we don’t have an actual fourth-generation iPhone in our hands, we have no way to know for sure. b) We obtained this part as a sample from a reputable source. They have been reputable up to this point, and have provided genuine parts for us in the past.

We are a repair company and it’s in our best interest to get samples of these new parts as they become available to us. Of course it is possible that these are not the final design or these are parts for another product completely, but that is not how they have been demonstrated to us. If these parts are not for the fourth generation iPhone, we will obviously not be using them for future repairs when the new iPhones do come out.

From left to right, you have the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the iPhone 4G front panel.

On the left, the iPhone 3GS front panel. On the right, the iPhone 4G front panel assembly. Note the difference in length and the reflective surface above the speaker, presumably for the proximity sensor.

On the left, the iPhone 3GS front panel. On the right, the iPhone 4G front panel assembly. Note the difference in length and the reflective surface above the speaker, presumably for the proximity sensor.

There’s been said, that the iPhone is probably coming next April already. Personally? I don’t think so; The next WWDC is going to be held in late june…

Rumors, rumors… but still…

I’m quite proud to say that some of my vector-arts have been approved for displaying on frisvers.nl (offline now, but soon online again!)…

When I sat down in his office, I saw a quote on his screen: Viva la Helvetica. He told me a story, and I started thinking. Now; I know, there a quite a few website who post articles about fonts, but still, you can’t have quite enough fonts, can you? So I started digging.

Yep, that’s right. From that day on, I will wear a brand new tattoo on the lower side of my left arm. I was a bit unsure if I should place it right there, cause of the work-thing: from that point there’s no turning back, and I have to wear long-sleeves from that moment on, but a dear friend convinced me after-all. She liked the place as much as I did, so there it’ll be! For those who didn’t heard already: I’m stuck in the middle of a divorce, and I have three kids. A son called Collin, a daughter called Fenna and another daughter named Lara. I miss those kids a whole lot and although I said once, that I never should tattoo any names, this is slightly different.

I already thought of something Gothic, cause I really like the style of the characters, but still it wasn’t complete, so I created some different kind of Gothic characters. You like? Let me know!

The appointment I made is on the 20st of may, and I will go to my favorite tattoo-guy: Aig’s Blue Tattoo.
I’ll post some pictures when the job is done!

I had some really nice discussions on-the-job last week. While I’m ‘doing the things I do’ on a brand new, shiny, 20″ iMac; there are a few guys who just don’t get it. They are all talking about their Windows-desktops, what they’ll do with it, or don’t and asked me a question about my computer. Mac-geek as I am, just told them that a Mac isn’t a computer. As I think of a computer, I think about a tower, with loads of wires on to it, a dull monitor on top of it, but hey, that’s my vision of a ‘computer’. You should have heard them… But still, with respect, everybody have it’s own opinion… What’s yours?

I can tell you, that the cross-over from PC to Mac was the next step. It was a step with great consequences, cause I can’t imagine that I should be working on that lame PC with windows on it. It’s so much more capable, so much faster, and on top of it, there aren’t any real threats for a Mac. Allright, sure there are some, probably, but not as much as for a regular Windows-Machine.

Did I convince you at some points, but you still haven’t enough money to buy your own iMac?
please follow this link. Maybe this will do for ya!

It is better than Windows anyway!

Keep you posted (from my own, shiny iMac! )

I’d been searching on the web for some good quotes, and I’ve read some beautiful ones (and also some quite confronting ones either…), so, besides the cards that I should have posted, I’m also posting some quotes from now on. I hope you like them, and if you do, (or don’t,) please comment!

You’ll find these quotes at the right side of my weblog. Categorized by date.

See ya!

Here’s the first one!

Quote of 12-02-2010: Loads of people were never happy because they thought it was yet to come. (writer: Unknown)
